This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website, mobile app, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). 1. Who we are
FamJam is a family coordination and planning platform that helps households stay organised, connected, and calm. We operate from Melbourne, Australia.

2. Information we collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve our Service.
2.1 Information from Google Sign-In
When you sign in using your Google Account, we receive limited personal information directly from Google, including:
- Name (as shown in your Google profile)
- Email address (for login and account communication)
- Profile picture (optional, used for visual identification in FamJam)
This information is used solely to create and manage your FamJam account, authenticate you securely, and personalise your experience in the app. We do not access any other data from your Google account (such as emails, contacts, or files). All authentication is handled securely via Google OAuth 2.0, and your Google password is never visible to or stored by FamJam.
2.2 Information you provide in the app
- Family information: names or nicknames of family members you add
- Calendar and tasks: events and to-dos you choose to connect from Google Calendar or Google Tasks
- User content: notes, messages, and comments you add in your family's jams
- Support requests: feedback, questions, or correspondence you send us
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version
- Usage data: app activity, interactions, and feature use
- Diagnostics: crash logs and performance data (collected anonymously)
2.4 Connected accounts
If you connect additional accounts (such as Google Calendar or Google Tasks), we access only the data you explicitly authorise, typically your calendar events and task lists. We never access your emails or contacts, and we never store your credentials. Connections use secure OAuth authorisation and can be revoked at any time in your settings.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Authenticate and manage your FamJam account
- Display and sync your family's shared calendars and to-dos
- Send notifications, reminders, and weekly summaries
- Provide customer support and respond to queries
- Improve app performance, design, and reliability
- Ensure security and prevent misuse
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or marketers.
4. How we share information
We share information only in limited, necessary ways:
- Within your family group: events, tasks, and notes are visible only to members of your FamJam household.
- Service providers: trusted third parties that provide hosting, analytics, or customer support. They access only what's needed to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality agreements.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of users and the public.
We never share your data for advertising or tracking.
5. Tracking and analytics
FamJam does not use any form of cross-app tracking or third-party advertising SDKs. We collect limited aggregated analytics (e.g., usage patterns, crash data) solely to improve app stability and user experience.
6. Data retention
We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law. When you delete your FamJam account, all associated personal data is permanently removed from our active systems within a reasonable period.
7. Data security
We apply strong security measures, including:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
- OAuth 2.0 authentication for Google sign-in and integrations
- Role-based access controls
- Continuous monitoring for unauthorised access
While no system is completely secure, we actively maintain and improve our safeguards.
8. Children's privacy
FamJam is managed by adults for family coordination. Parents or guardians control all information entered about children. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children under 13. If we become aware that such data has been collected without parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

You can:
- Access and update your account information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Disconnect integrations (Google Calendar, Google Tasks, etc.)
- Opt out of non-essential notifications

10. International data transfers
FamJam may use servers or partners located outside your country. We ensure all transfers comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), GDPR, and other applicable privacy laws. Data is stored securely and processed only for legitimate operational purposes.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes occur, we will notify you within the app or by email. Your continued use of FamJam after updates means you accept the revised policy.
